State of Unrest

Why is our country "expected" to pay for, and train foreigners to fight their own battles for their own country? Another one of the many things I just don't "get" out here in the country. I guess I have always lived under the assumption that countries pretty much took care of themselves. What ever happened to growing up with a kindred spirit of defending what is yours? Must be how far I am behind the times.

What really amazes me, is how immigrants from other countries come here to live, intent upon raising havoc with the country that "took them in." And inciting "supposed" Americans to join them in their misbegotten deeds. What are people thinking? Apparently, many citizens of this country aren't happy with the way things are going here. So maybe they think their lives will be better if they go somewhere else? Personally, I find that hard to believe, the way things are in the world today.

I realize many things are askew in this country. But could it really be better in some of the backward nations they portray on the world news? I'm sure we are all due some type of "comeuppance" one day. And maybe life as we know it, will never be the same. But I think I'll continue to take my chances right where I am. I may not be the smartest, or wisest person in the world, but I am also not the stupidest.

Right now, I have it pretty darned good right here. I also know that is always subject to change. A person should never take good fortune for granted. Be thankful for it every day, and do your part to keep things going your way. Never fail to realize everything can change in the blink of an eye, without a moment's notice.
