I am a parent, and I know how tough it can be having your child out of your sight. How its not even easy to send them off to school, or even to a friend's house for the night, for the first time. But to actually send them off into the wilderness, travelling through who knows what kind of strangeness, where evil could be lurking behind the next bush. I guess I'll never understand some of the things that go on in today's world. And I certainly have not travelled much, or far, in my life. But I know uncertainty lies everywhere in this world of unrest.
Personally, I believe the powers that be, and those who patrol our borders, need to tidy these kids up, and send them back where they came from. How can our country be held responsible for the well-being of thousands of foreign children? Many who are probably sick or have health issues, and who probably in most cases, don't even speak our language. The entire scenario boggles my mind, as to how a situation like this could even be dealt with successfully.
It makes me wonder how actions like this ever got started. Did our government somehow inadvertently deliver an open invitation? I can understand how things are probably somewhat better in this country than others. But at the rate we are going, that may one day seriously change. Particularly if things like this continue. How can the working few continue to support more, and more, on the dole? It just is not possible. The buck has got to stop somewhere. Its bad enough that everything essential is going up, and up, in cost, nearly every day. Even out here in the country, we know a dollar can only be stretched so far, after taxes, and other things taken out before a worker even gets what is left of his pay check.
