I think the Internet is an amazing tool, both for entertainment, and important things such as paying bills, checking accounts, running a business, or keeping in touch with family. It is such a shame that there are those out there who continue to try to mess up the works, in an attempt to ruin a good thing for those who do use it properly. Why does there always have to be someone with this intent in mind?
Which makes me wonder if any of these ne'er do wells ever get caught for their criminal abuses. Its too bad if they don't, although I'm sure if any are, its really not enough, or it wouldn't be as attractive to keep on trying to mess with people. I have to wonder how these people come up with the information needed to do what they do. Do they just keep on trying different combinations before they come up with one that does their dirty work? If so, these crooks really could find better uses for their intelligence, or lack of it, whichever the case may be.
Even though the Internet does have its drawbacks, it is still used for a lot of good. Why can't they just leave well enough alone, think of those who earn their livings over the web, and use it for good? Unfortunately, we all know there are those who have difficulty following the rules of society, but instead choose to profit from ill-gotten gains. I suppose it will never completely stop, so in the mean time, everyone needs to guard their information with firewalls, virus protectors, malware software, and other spies in the sky. Its just too bad nothing can ever be as it seems, because those bent on destruction are invisible to the average person. Only those with super cyber tools can track them down, and do what needs to be done.
It is my wish that those fighting the battle will continue to bring many of them to justice. After all, out here in my place in the country, the Internet is a source of several forms of entertainment, among other things.

Getting Along
I often wonder why people think they are inferior to others, whether in the way they look, dress, or live. Why is it so important to conform, or fit in? Why not just be ourselves? Personally, I used to worry about things like that, even though I never did fit in, but since I've become older, I no longer care, and haven't for some time. When I was in school I never felt like I looked as good as others, my hair didn't conform to conventional styles, my clothing wasn't as nice, and my family situation didn't seem to measure up with theirs. Why did I care?
Now as I look back, I wonder why it concerned me. I was just as good, my life was just different, as was my unruly hair, and my clothing. As long as we have the essentials to eat, a place to lie our heads, clothing to cover us, and someone who cares, why do we compare ourselves to anyone else? Regardless of social status, skin colour, religion, the way we choose to dress, or our imperfections, we are all basically created the same. There is no reason why anyone should be made to feel less than equal.
I remember when my daughter was growing up, and how mean and rude children could be. She had red curly hair, and was made to feel inferior because of that natural fact. It is sad when a child is made to feel like an outsider because of some physical attribute that is beyond their control. Eventually, she learned to come to terms with the problem, and because of it, became capable of telling off those who needed it, and standing up for herself. Sometimes we have to toughen up, and show what we are made of, because nothing else will suffice. If we don't, they will continue with their wicked ways, and making our lives miserable.
I have learned to live, and let live, in my out of the way place in the country. I think we all need to become more patient, and understanding, in our dealings with others. Otherwise, how will we learn to achieve even a modicum of civility with our surroundings?

Get Along
Why is it that people, and nations, cannot get along? We are all on this sphere called Earth, and to the best of anyone's knowledge, its not like we can just up and decide one day to go elsewhere. We have no idea if there is anywhere else within travelling distance over a lifetime, or if we could survive there, without major hazard suits and life lines, if we did decide to defect.
I know very well it is impossible for everyone to always get along, because there are too many outside forces at work for that to ever happen. But it seems like some kind of truce could be enacted, that didn't include killing each other off, fighting, wars, and other forms of unrest. There is always going to be something, whether its goods, oil, the distribution of food stuffs, or even immigrants who are going to mess with the peace. Everyone has basic requirements they cannot survive without. So why do we have to hurt each other in order to try to get what someone else has?
We all require the same basic things, to exist. Since we are all in this together, on this huge rotating ball, it is wrong for some to have such excess, and others next to nothing. It is a shame the necessities cannot be more evenly divided, so there are not those without enough to eat, good water, are homeless, and without the necessary medical care. I don't know the answer, but I think those shows of excess they put on television are just plain wrong, and a slap in the face to those who must go without.
Here in my little corner of the country I try to get by on less, minimize waste, recycle, and reuse, in order to cut expenses.

Bad News
I have to wonder why when something bad, tragic, disastrous, or Earth shattering takes place, that they have to keep repeatedly broadcasting, and running special reports on it. After we've listened to the life-altering for some, news numerous times, isn't it time to let those involved recuperate, have time to get over it, and pick up the pieces and carry on?
I know there are those who feed on drama, but that doesn't mean everyone does. We can feel bad for those affected, donate to their cause, pray for them, or whatever makes us feel better, and still not need to keep re-hashing the event. Sometimes I wonder if the media doesn't go too far with this stuff, such as the school shootings, etc. Maybe those who might be inclined to act out in such a manner, have some kind of sick fixation on how they will go down in history for their dastardly deed. If that is the case, in their poor minds, then we are feeding into their disillusionment.
I don't even pretend to know, but I still believe there comes a time when we should let it rest. We know about it, have had a chance to mourn for those involved, and then it is time to let it go. It is not good to continue to dwell on unhappy events, they have a tendency to bring us down. It is bad enough that those directly affected have lost loved ones, homes, or their way of life. And that is just the opinion of one who has seen their share of adversity, out in my small corner of the country.

Doom
Is it the state of the economy, or the speed with which technology is evolving that has doom sayers so enthralled with what could happen to humanity, and the planet? I could be wrong, but it seems like too much thinking along these lines could be a bad thing. From what you hear every day it seems like there is enough depression, drought, famine, homelessness, and natural disasters to occupy us, we wouldn't have time to be looking for other catastrophes to befall us.
The number of television series, Movies that have already been out, and others coming out, about what could happen after disaster strikes, should anyone survive, is somewhat frightening. Then when I over hear television programs that my husband, who loves science, the universe, history, and subjects along these lines, talk about what will happen after people are gone, volcanoes erupt, earthquakes snuff out life, or huge asteroids obliterate the Earth, I tend to get impatient with the naysayers of the world who keep beating this subject to death.
I say, if it happens it happens, its not like there is anything even the greatest, most powerful world leaders, or scientists can do to prevent it. But I personally think I don't want to know about it, or have some prophet tell me its coming, as long as it is beyond our control. Life itself can hold enough problems, and minor catastrophes to keep us occupied, so I say live it as best as you can, and when, or if the decision is taken out of our hands, then so be it. In the mean time, I will continue to do what I do at my little spot in the country.

Why
I guess I am pretty old fashioned, and down to earth. Because I really don't understand why it seems like just about everybody any more, is not happy with their looks. What ever happened to being content with what you were given? I realize a lot of people aren't natural raving beauties, but so what? You have a lot of company out there, and will never be alone in the fact that you look like an ordinary every day person.
Who is qualified to say what is, and isn't acceptable in the looks department? Who decided that an hour glass figure, long, straight blond hair, perfect features, and blue eyes, should be the ideal woman? I don't understand. Everyone's ancestors came from different backgrounds, with different traits, features, and way of life. Why is that no longer good enough? I think we should be happy with the variety offered in our mixed cultural society.
Red heads can be beautiful, as can green eyes, brown hair, hazel eyes, black hair, gray eyes, blond hair, blue eyes, curls, waves, or even hair straight as strings. What is the problem? And why is a wrinkle or two, earned throughout a joyous, happy, or even a troubled life, considered a defect? I understand that having excess pounds on the human frame can, in some instances, lead to problems. But if a person has a few extra, and they are healthy, why should they be made to go to extreme measures because of the rude comments, and actions, of others? If it was as easy, or pleasurable, to lose weight, as it is to gain it from all of the good food out there, I'm sure there would not be as many overweight people.
Even with the different nationalities, whether your skin is white, brown, black, yellow, or red, it is a natural gift. Basically, we are all similar beneath the surface, and should be more patient, understanding, and accepting of each other. We can't help the way we came onto this Earth, so why should we be tortured, or abused, because of it. Unfortunately, there are those in all races who give their brethren a bad name, but lets not misuse all because of the mistakes of a few. Fortunately, I don't have to deal with a lot of the world's injustice, because I choose to live a calmer, less crazy existence out in the country.

When
When did we, as a society, become so totally uncaring, and lacking in common decency for our fellow man? I see instance, after instance, of young people, and some older, who could care less whether they hold the door for someone coming in, or out a store, or anywhere else. And countless other acts constituting a total lack of manners, such as a simple please, or thank you, or any consideration at all for others. I am not young, but I will hold the door for anyone, young, or old, male, or female, entering or leaving an establishment, and I will say please, and thank you. In my opinion, it is very rude to shut the door in anyone's face, or rudely cut in front of them. All it takes is a few seconds to demonstrate that you had some upbringing.
And the language in this day and age, I have to admit I just do not understand. I have only recently joined Facebook, and Twitter, and I was surprised to see that such language is acceptable in this form of communication. Its difficult to believe such talk is justifiable on these forms of social media where onlookers could be of any age, from a young child to a senior citizen. I know it isn't right to pass judgement on others, but I have to admit that in my opinion, it shouldn't be okay.
I know that there are those who will push the envelope, as long as no body tells them otherwise. Unless they are actually reprimanded in some way, shape, or form, they will do so anyway. Also I find it totally amazing how it seems as if nobody can talk any more without throwing in a few totally unacceptable curse words. Maybe I just spend too much time out in the country, and not really attuned to how the other half lives.
