So much unrest in the world, how can anyone feel safe? It seems like just about every month you hear about another country having issues with its leadership, abusing or killing its own people, and other horrific things. I guess it just goes to show that some people just shouldn't be in power over others, it goes to their head. It sure makes you wonder how it can be possible to find a "ruler" who will have the best interest of his "people" at heart, and do what is right for them and all concerned.
Personally, I think money plays way too big a part in leadership. For one thing, it takes the average person out of the running, anyone who actually knows what people, other than the rich, go through to exist day to day. Those with significant amounts of money, haven't the slightest idea what it takes, because they have no idea what things cost, just to get by. Besides living on an income they would probably consider pocket change. What is fair about these people basically, buying their way into these positions?
Another thing that bugs me is the age of some representatives. How do they get in these positions at such advanced ages, or remain there until they are too old to be up to date? Personally, I think there should be an age restriction, our poor country needs people who have the drive, energy, and stamina, to keep up with the times, and see things through. Besides having an intelligent head on their shoulders, and the ability to identify problems, and do what it takes to rectify them.
I guess its just another one of the many things I don't understand about our government, big surprise. I really don't feel that most of those presently in there have the best interests of our nation, or its people, foremost in their minds. All the average person has to do is listen to them talk on the television, with all their double talk that really doesn't tell us anything. Here in the country, once again feeling somewhat like a mushroom.
