Celebrities

The tabloids and media never cease to amaze me. And celebrities in general. There they are touting certain products, organizations, and other stuff, then wonder why they are ostracised by the public, organizations, media, and paparazzi. Go figure-- If you can't walk the walk, then don't talk the talk. They're out there making all kinds of money, something infallibly human happens to them, and they wonder why they are talked about, put down, and shamed.

I, personally, am not a fan of celebrities, period. Some of them when I hear their names, and about their antics on television, I just ask myself, Why? How do these idiots get placed on a pedestal by their fans? Could they do anything dumber, or more stupid? What makes people, or kids, look up to them? Can't they find a better role model somewhere? Although, I realize children are a much different story, they are young, innocent, and not really "clued in" to the harsh realities of life. They have a lot to learn, and hopefully, their parents are up to the task.

Then the way some seem to start out okay, popularity goes to their heads, and they begin to think they can get away with just about anything. And they do. Some of the things they do, ordinary people would be clapped in jail and the key tossed away, but not them. Personally, I feel if they do something wrong, they should sit in jail and do the time, just like any other ordinary mortal. As it is, it seems as though many never learn their lesson, but keep on doing idiotic things.

Why not put 'em behind bars, let them think about their misdeeds for awhile, and hope they come out better people? Forget the just few days discipline, and high and mighty accommodations. Let them see how it really feels, in appropriate surroundings, surrounded by others who've made the same kind of mistakes. If they get a little rough handling, maybe they'll think about their actions more carefully, and responsibly, next time. What makes them so special? Basically, they are the same as everyone else. They just happen to have wanted into the spotlight, and somehow got there.

I'm not saying all celebs are bad, there may be those who do good, and possibly deserve to be looked up to. But, in my opinion, out here in the good ol' country, it seems like there are more who do not. Once again, just my opinion.
